All those magazines you subscribe to don’t have to end up in the landfill after you’re done reading them.
Here are some useful ways to use those old magazines around the house.
Boost a Planter
If you have a potted plant that’s not tall enough for your planter, you can use a few magazines at the bottom of your planter to prop it up.
Woven Basket, Bracelet, Etc.
Use the subscription cards that fall out of magazines or the front or back page of a magazine to create this woven technique. You can use this weaving method to create a bracelet, a basket, and other cool things.
Extension Cords
Roll up a magazine and secure it with some tape or a rubber band. Then wrap an extension cord around it to keep it from getting all tangled up.
Coasters
You can fold and coil magazine pages to create these bright colored coasters.
Help Your Boots Keep Their Shape
Roll up magazines and place them in your tall boots to help them keep their shape.
Pond Liner
Line your pond with a thick layer of magazine pages before you lay down a liner. This will make sure that rocks and roots don’t puncture through your liner.
Makeshift Trivet
Place a hot pot or dish on a stack of magazines to protect your tabletop from the heat. You can also roll up strips of magazine paper and glue circles together, using the coaster method above, to make a trivet.
Protect Windows From Paint
Wet some magazine pages and press them into your window panes before you start painting. This will protect your windows from paint.
Line Drawers
You can use magazine paper as disposable drawer liners.
Magazine Clock
You can fold magazine pages in a fan method and add a clock mechanism to make this crafty clock.
Cool Wrapping Paper
Use magazine pages to wrap a present. It will look colorful and funky and you won’t have to buy wrapping paper.
Ceramic Tile
Glue some magazine pages on pieces of ceramic tiles and give your house a sweet tile design.
Make an End Table
Fill a tall cardboard box with magazines and tape it shut. Mod Podge magazines, fabric or wallpaper to the outside of it to decorate your makeshift table.

Glue pages or strips of magazine magazines to your wall to create a colorful wallpaper in your home.
Planter
Cut out a hole in the middle of a stack of magazines and place your potted plant in it to create a funky planter.

Baby socks are adorable but tiny and can get lost or separated from their twin sock pretty easily. Try placing a pair in each slot of an egg carton to keep them together.

You can use an egg carton as a snack tray for your kids to prevent them from spilling their snacks all over the place.
