15 Creative Ways To Use Your Hairdryer

For most people, a hairdryer is a pretty straightforward tool used for, well, drying and shaping hair. But there are actually tons of other uses for this versatile item. A fraction of people might use their hairdryer daily, but most people don’t have the time to wash, dry, and style their hair every day. So, what can you use your hairdryer for while it’s sitting in a bathroom drawer?

Prevent food from exploding in your microwave.

If you’ve ever tried to microwave eggs yolks, potatoes, or squash in the microwaves, you know they can splatter. Generally, anything with a thick “skin” around it acts like a bubble and when things get too hot, the steam has to escape somewhere and that’s when splatters occur.

To prevent this, pierce potatoes or squash with a fork about 6 to 8 times before cooking them in the microwave. Alternatively, you can also slice them in half and put them slice down in a place before microwaving them.
