Children just love making things with their own hands, but when the result is pretty and useful, then it’s twice as cool.
We at Smalljoys would like to share 15 hand-crafted items with you that are easy to make yet still very attractive. Making them might well carry your kids away for the whole day.
A colorful apron
All you need here is a simple apron and fabric paint or acrylic watercolor. Then just let your imagination fly, and paint the apron not only with brushes, but also with your hands and feet!
A bright carpet
Take a hula hoop and some thick colorful threads, and your kid can make a wonderful carpet like the one above.
Fingerprint pendants
Carve some hearts out of clay, then press down so you’re left with your fingerprints on them. Make a small hole for a keyring, and put the almost-ready pendants in the oven.
A great idea your kids will love to try
Just fix one end of a piece of wire onto a keyring, let your kid put beads on it. Then fix the other end tightly. Originally, a pipe cleaner was used instead of wire.
A cute ring holder
Give your kid some polymer clay and a tennis ball, and they can make you a truly unique ring holder that only you will have.
An exclusive mug
All you need here is a plain white mug and some ceramic paints (which are now even produced as felt-tip pens) or stained glass colors. And there you go — a one-of-a-kind mug made by your own child!
Crockery holders
Your kid will have no trouble making a colorful holder for his or her favorite cup from colored popsickle sticks.
A cushion
Take some glue and special paints, and you can easily make unusually colored cushions like those shown above.
Colored jugs
Bright candle holders
Candleholders like these ones are made using coarse salt, some food dye, and some glue.
A unique candle
Ask your kid to draw something on a piece of tissue paper and then fix it in a candle with a hair dryer. Also, you can just make a drawing on the candle itself with a marker, but this kind of picture won’t stay on as easily.
Bath salts
Mix some sea salt, essential oils, and a bit of food dye to give them a pleasant color, and your own fantastic bath salts will be ready!
Wind chimes
This wonderful thing can be made out of old keys you no longer need, or can just buy some ’blank’ keys.
A cheerful beach bag
Check this link to find a guide on how to make a brightly colored beach bag with the help of a potato and some acrylic paint.
Magnets made out of salty dough
Prepare some salty dough, cut the necessary number of pieces out of it, let them dry, paint, and then glue magnets on to the back of them. Little trouble, and a lot of fun!
