1. Two Rabbits
Julian captured a really cute moment between these two rabbits. They found a bunch of delicious red berries to munch on. Luckily, there are enough for both of them to share.
2. Gimme a hug!!!!
This squirrel is really in love with the orange and yellow flower it found. The flower is really pretty, so of course, the squirrel reaches up to try and get a hug. Who wouldn’t want a hug from a beautiful flower like that?
3. Hopefully spring comes soon..
Another cute squirrel stumbled upon a magnificent red flower. Instead of trying to hug it though, the squirrel simply wants to take in its lovely fresh scent. The floral fragrance reminds the squirrel of spring.
4. Say cheeeeese
This is one of Julians most amazing photos. Somehow he manages to get the one fox to peer through the camera at the other fox, just like they are taking pictures of each other. This is wildlife photography at its best.
5. The Stare Down
This fox watches Julian intensely as he takes the photo. The fox gives him a total stare down as if to say, “I know what you’re doing, and I don’t like it!” Not every animal appreciates Internet fame.
6. “Hey Mr. Snowman, can I eat your Head?”
First the squirrel builds a fantastic little snowman. However, shortly after, it just can’t resist taking a bite out of the head. It must be awful boring living in the forest in the winter, but luckily, this squirrel is finding plenty of ways to stay busy.
7. European Hamster & Spruce Cone
It turns out there is such thing as a European Hamster. They live in the wild in Eurasia and occupy quite a large area. Their habitat ranges from Belgium all the way to Russia. This one is enjoying a spruce cone.
8. Cliffhanger
This cute little rodent is just trying to get a bite to eat, however, the corn is just a little too high to reach. Julian captures the mouse using all its strength to hang onto the cob and get a nibble. It’s like something straight out of the movie Cliffhanger, that is, if Sylvester Stallone were a mouse.
9. Reflections…
Here we have a cool photo of a hamster heading down to the edge of the water for a drink. The hamster is so thirsty that it doesn’t even notice its reflection in the puddle. We can certainly appreciate how awesome it is though.
10. High Noon
In this photo, two foxes can be seen play fighting with each other in the grass. While things can get a little rambunctious at times, it’s safe to say that they are definitely having fun. We imagine it must have taken Julian an incredible amount of patience to capture this image.
11. Red Squirrel & Nut
When you live outdoors, you don’t have to really worry about table manners. You just eat however you want. This hungry red squirrel is chewing away on a nice nut and getting crumbs everywhere.
12. Fighting Foxes
Uh oh. It looks like the play fighting has now turned into a serious brawl. Who will win in this battle of the foxes? It’s quite an incredible moment. Capturing a photo like this is what we call being in the right place at the right time.
13. Deep Thoughts
This red squirrel chose a beautiful spot to sit and think about life. Eating a nut helps the squirrel to clear its thoughts as it ponders what the reflection in the water means. “Is that me I see?” it wonders.
14. Just.. a little.. bit….closer
Have you ever stumbled upon that one delicious nut that was just slightly out of reach? You want it so bad but you can’t quite reach it… That is what is happening in this photo. The squirrel really doesn’t want to get wet, but that nut is just so enticing.
15. Gliding
Julian took this photo at the perfect moment. The talented red squirrel glides through the air at a pretty goofy sideways angle. The funniest part though is how the hair above the squirrel’s ears is literally standing straight up.
16. The Ring
This red squirrel has found the perfect place to get a closer look at itself. It sits perched on top of a ring of vines in the most tranquil part of the creek, staring into the water. It acts as a great natural mirror. “So this is what I look like,” the squirrel thinks to itself.
17. Red Squirrel & Great Tit
In this photo, we can see a Great Tit bird posing in the foreground while a red squirrel happily snacks away on the edge of the water in the back. There is always so much going on in the forest. If you open your eyes, it’s amazing the things you’ll notice.
18. Red Squirrel
This acrobatic red squirrel makes a big leap for the dry land on the other side of the stream. It’s pretty incredible how it appears to effortlessly glide through the air like that. It is even carrying a little nut in its mouth at the same time!
19. Ground Squirrel & Flower
The ground squirrel carefully bends the flower down to get a closer look. The flower smells so amazing and the squirrel can’t decide whether to simply enjoy the scent, or take a bite. It’s a good problem to have.
20. When someone tells a funny joke
This is either one of the biggest yawns we’ve ever seen or the fox is laughing at a funny joke. It’s hard to tell. If one thing is for sure though, it’s that the photo is stunning.
21. Let’s fight!
You don’t want to mess with a ground squirrel. They are known to be pretty feisty and aren’t afraid to duke it out. The squirrel on the left is standing in the perfect boxing pose, and we have to say, its form is remarkable.
22. “Oh.. who are you?”
This red squirrel has made a new friend. “Oh.. who are you?” it thinks as it cautiously climbs down the stick to get a closer look and say hello.
23. Hamster & Flower
Hamsters enjoy a nice flower as well, just like the squirrels. The smell is just so enticing. The curious hamster stretches its neck up nice and tall and takes a deep breath.
24. Happy Valentine’s Day
Julian posted this photo on Valentine’s day, February 14, 2018, and it’s the perfect photo to represent the holiday. The two foxes look so in love. The male fox goes in for the kiss, and the shy female coyly turns her cheek.
25. Ground Squirrels & Berries
These squirrels were super excited when they found a giant bunch of red berries in the woods. Julian captured the whole moment on camera. The one squirrel energetically jumps up to take a bite, and the other squirrel eagerly waits for its turn.
26. “Pssst… there is someone lying in the grass taking pictures of us”
These squirrels are whispering back and forth planning out their next move. While they realize someone is nearby taking photos of them, they also are pretty hungry, and thus they have a big dilemma. Run away, or keep munching on the thistle bush? That is the question.
27. Superman
Julian named this photo “Superman” and it’s definitely a great description. The squirrel is literally flying through the air. Really, if you told us this photo came from a DC comic book, we would probably believe you.
28. Who is ready for autumn?
“Who is ready for autumn?” Julian asks his Instagram fans in the photo caption. This European Hamster definitely is ready. Acorn season is one of the hamster’s favorite times of the year.
29. Thirsty
This little red squirrel is super thirsty and was even able to find its very own squirrel-sized water fountain. What a lucky guy! Anytime it needs a drink now, it knows exactly where to go.
30. Bliss
This squirrel is in complete bliss. The flower is so intoxicating that is caused the squirrel’s hair to stand up on end. It just can’t get enough of it.
31. Red Squirrel
Another squirrel that knows how to fly! It’s also carrying a giant nut in its mouth. It is very happy about its find. With that nut, it will likely be able to feed the whole family.
32. Spring smells so sweet..
Spring is one the best times of year to be a squirrel. The flowers are out in full bloom, the winter cold is gone, and life is good. It’s a great time to fall in love.
33. Ooh.. ?
This squirrel was happily munching away on a nut when Julian snuck up and surprised it. You can see the look of total shock on the squirrel’s face. It is completely frozen and doesn’t know what to do now.
34. Happy Fox
Check out this happy fox! He is out relaxing in the sun and really enjoying himself it seems. It would be so interesting to know what he is thinking about.
35. Exploring
With big risks come big rewards. While it’s true that nuts aren’t always bigger on the other side of the pond, the squirrel decides that the risk is worth it. It isn’t afraid to get a little wet in the pursuit of adventure.
36. How would you caption this photo?
“How would you caption this photo?” Julian asks his Instagram audience. That is a good question. Maybe… “In Love With Nature”? The squirrel appears to really be appreciating the beauty of the flowers.
37. Ballet
In this photo, another squirrel decides that crossing the stream is worth the risk. It dances across the water like it is performing in a ballet. The big acorn in its mouth just adds to the challenge, making the feat that much more impressive.
38. Let it snow..
Here is a very cool winter shot that Julian captured. The squirrel is flying through the air in a beautiful winter wonderland and it’s the perfect representation of forest life. Rain, shine, or snow, it doesn’t matter. A squirrel has got to eat!
39. A handful of flowers…
“I brought you some flowers,” says the furry little guy. “Will you be my valentine?” It’s really a very cute pic and we’re sure this squirrel with definitely make some other squirrel extremely happy one day.
40. Autumn has the most beautiful colours,.. do you agree?
“Autumn has the most beautiful colours,” Julian says in the photo title. We have to agree. When all the leaves are changing colors, it is a fantastic time to be a nature photographer.
41. Red Fox
“What are you looking at?” the sly Fox says with a scowl on his face. You definitely don’t want to get too close to this guy. Look at the size of those teeth!
42. Hanging
The European Hamster is just so cute looking. We could look at photos of them all day! This one is snacking on some berries while hanging on for dear life.
43. Enjoying life
Here’s a great photo of a red fox out enjoying the rain. Even with the inclement weather, the fox still looks so happy and content. Nature really is amazing sometimes.
44. Full Speed
Okay, this is the last European Hamster photo. We promise. This guy is running full speed ahead, which for a hamster, we imagine is about one or two miles per hour.
45. Fight Club
These little guys started their own fight club and are having an all-out brawl. Or are they breakdancing? We’re not entirely sure, but either way, it’s a pretty crazy moment Julian was able to capture.
46. Flowers
This squirrel really knows what living is all about and it’s not afraid to a take a second out of its busy day to stop and smell the flowers. Sometimes it’s the small things that make all the difference. Honestly, we could all probably learn a thing or two from squirrels.
47. Ground Squirrels
As the one ground squirrel makes a big leap up in the air to try and grab some berries, the other watches with anticipation. Those berries definitely look delicious. Hopefully, they were able to get a couple.
48. Tasty Thistle
Here we have another awesome photo of some ground squirrels. These two found a very tasty purple flower to eat. One munches away while the other patiently waits for its turn to get a bite.
49. European Hamster & Dandelion
Okay, one more European Hamster photo. We couldn’t resist! This one is whimsically grasping for a dandelion, hoping to make a wish.
50. Kung Fu Squirrels
These two ground squirrels love the Chinese martial arts. Especially Kung Fu. This is a great photo Julian captured of the duo practicing their sport out in the dirt.
