13 Inventive Tips That Make Our Life Much Easier

We all try to find cooking, makeup, car, and life hacks on the internet sometimes. But there are no multipurpose hack collections to use in different spheres of our life. So if you want to know, for example, how to nap using a system that even Dali used, or how to taste food without burning your tongue, then this article is for you.

Smalljoys shares some pieces of advice with everyone who’s ready to improve their life.

Hold an object in your hand to use as an alarm clock.

Hold any object in your hand that produces loud noise when it falls down, so you don’t oversleep when napping. Dali used this method as his wake up “signal:” he used to hold a key over a ceramic plate.

Put a spoon in the freezer so you don’t burn your tongue.

This life hack is a must for those who always burn their tongue while cooking. To stop it, just put a spoon in the freezer and take it out when you’re going to taste a dish. You won’t need to wait until all the food in your spoon cools off.

Try to hard boil eggs in the oven.

If you want to eat some boiled eggs, don’t put on a pot of water to boil. Some people say that it’s better to cook the eggs in the oven. It takes more time (30 minutes intead of 10) but when baked, hard boiled eggs have a creamier texture. Also, they’re even easier to peel.

Make pizza at home with a $5 brick oven.

Pizza stones give pizzas, breads, and other things a marvelous crust. Use two layers of pizza stones, or tiles, and you can turn your oven into a brick oven. The pizza stone distributes the heat evenly in your oven, and when the pizza cooks on top of the stone it has a better crust.

Use tortillas to make taco shells.

If you want to try something new, this method is just perfect. Wrap tortillas in a barely damp cloth or paper towel and microwave them until they’re steamed, for about 30 seconds. Lay them on a surface and cover both sides with cooking spray. Then carefully drape each tortilla over two bars of the oven rack. Bake until crispy for 7-10 minutes.

Pour coffee by slightly lifting the coffeepot.

You can use this tip to make your favorite drink even tastier: lift your coffeepot while pouring coffee. Even a few inches can change the situation: when coffee flows into your cup this way, it gets enriched with oxygen, and its taste gets richer.

Don’t carry your wallet in the pockets of your jeans.

The habit of having a wallet in the back pocket of your jeans is a normal thing for men (and some women do it too). We all know that this makes it easy for someone to steal it. But this habit also affects your health. It’s been proven that sitting on your wallet is a bad idea because wallets hurt our lower back and pelvic nerves and can even pinch the sciatic nerve.

Take a spare outfit to a party.

We all know how great parties end up. To avoid unpleasant consequences, take spare clothes with you just in case. If there was no need to change, you can always wear new clothes the next morning to go somewhere feeling fresh and clean.

Two ways to clear your stuffy nose

The 1st way is very easy: you just need to place pressure on a point above the nose bridge. The bone in this area will start swinging and it will stimulate the flow of fluid.

The 2nd way requires holding your breath: pinch your nose, hold your breath, and start nodding your head. These movements will cause carbon dioxide accumulation and your brain will flush the nose sinuses because of the lack of oxygen. Then you should be able to blow your nose.

Use a frozen sponge as a cold compress.

If you hurt yourself, it’s best to apply ice or a cold compress. But unfortunately ice can sometimes be too cold, and it starts melting too fast — it’s hard to find a happy medium. To make things easier, we suggest that you freeze some sponges. Soak them in water, then put them in a bag, and put the bag into the freezer. Now you have a great cooling tool that won’t melt!

2 minute rule

This rule states that you shouldn’t postpone tasks that take less than 2 minutes. For example, making your bed or washing a plate are things that are very easily accomplished. Leaving things like this not only adds up, but these things could collectively contend with important tasks later.

Become “a part of the zoo.”

When we go to the zoo, we always want animals to come closer. But generally, they’re afraid of us. You can try to wear clothes that are the same color as the zoo workers and animals might treat you like something “familiar” and come a little closer.

There are so many tips on how to fall asleep and quit suffering from insomnia. One of the methods is really simple: you just need to stick one leg out of the blanket. A shower cap will protect a bicycle seat from rain

A common situation: you left your bike outside and went on your business, then all of a sudden the rain started, and the seat got all wet. To avoid this, take a shower cap with you on a bike ride, and cover the seat with it. And here are a couple of other tricks.

Preserve a watermelon

We rarely eat a whole watermelon at once, so it goes into the fridge. And there seems to be nothing more convenient than a shower cap to cover and preserve it.

Keep the hallway clean

Put shower caps on the wheels of a kid’s bike or stroller before entering the house, and there’ll be much less mess inside.

Pack your shoes

Your shoes won’t dirty other items in your bag or wardrobe if you put them into a shower cap, which is more convenient than ordinary bags.

Micellar water can rejuvenate old canvas shoes

The dark and grimy soles of your canvas shoes, as well as the shoes themselves, are easily cleaned with micellar water.

Help remove cosmetic stains

Before washing things stained with lipstick, mascara, or concealer, dab the stain with a cotton pad dipped in micellar water — the stain will more likely go away after washing.

A dish sponge can become an ice pack

This is a great way to go on a picnic. Put several wet sponges into separate bags, and seal them the night before the trip. Place the bags into the freezer overnight. In the morning, put the sponges in the cooler bag with the food you’d like to stay cool.

Make pedicures easier

Your toes may touch each other and smudge the polish as it dries, and that’s irritating. To avoid this, cut a sponge into pieces, and place them between your toes.

Keep your veggies fresh for longer

The fruit and vegetable container in your fridge constantly accumulates excess moisture, making its contents spoil faster. Avoid this by putting a new dish sponge inside — it’ll absorb the moisture. Just don’t forget to squeeze and change it.

Make a super thrifty soap dish

Make a soap dish out of a sponge by carving a hollow in it, or just put the soap on a sponge. This way, it’ll be used up much slower.

Elastic bands will help open a tight cap

Wrap an elastic band around the cap and easily open a nail polish bottle or any other vessel.

Keep a book safe in your bag

Paperback books tend to get shabby at the corners when we carry them around in our bag. To save them from such a fate, use an elastic band as shown above.

Make a sat nav out of a phone

If there’s no GPS in your car but there’s one in your smartphone, you know what to do.

Fit into your jeans
